Starting Lineup

PONA · CHAVO · GUILLE · CHINO · CHINCHU · THOMI · SANTI · EZE · TITO · FACU · LUCA

Alte. Brown looks to play a heavy counter attacking game using a 5-3-2 formation. This lineup is built to sit deep and wait for the opposition to push forward before hitting them on the transition. The goal is to stay compact and use the width of the pitch once the ball is won back.

PONA guards the goal as the lone goalkeeper. Ahead of him, the back line functions as a narrow defensive block with three central defenders. THOMI holds the middle position to anchor the defense, while GUILLE and CHINO act as the wide centre-backs to cover the spaces behind the wing backs. CHINCHU and CHAVO operate as attacking wing backs, tasked with providing width and track back to defend the flanks when the team is out of possession. This five man unit works to stay tight and protect the central areas.

The midfield is a three man midfield with a carrier and creative elements. SANTI and EZE occupy the central roles to shield the defense and win the second ball. SANTI acts to cover ground and protect the gap between the midfield and the back three. TITO plays as an attacking ten behind the two forwards, looking to find pockets of space between the lines. TITO connects the defensive and attacking lines by receiving the ball and looking to play through the lines to the forwards.

Alte. Brown employs two forwards in a partnership to lead the attack. LUCA and FACU work together to press the opposition back line and run in behind the defenders. These two attackers often combine in tight spaces to move the ball toward the goal. The wing backs, CHINCHU and CHAVO, push high to provide width, which forces the opposition defense to spread wide and creates more room in the middle. This movement allows LUCA and FACU to find space to receive the ball and turn toward the goal.

A major strength of this formation is the ability to stay compact when defending, making it very hard for opponents to play through the middle. The team also benefits from the speed of transition, as the wing backs and the attacking ten can quickly move the ball from a defensive position to the strikers. This creates quick chances before the opposition can get organized.

The 5-3-2 formation for Alte. Brown is designed to absorb pressure and strike with speed. It is best suited for matches against teams that control possession and leave space behind their midfield.
