Starting Lineup

Eze · Makky · Vodera · Janitor · Boledovič (C) · Havlík · Charvát · Cserepkai · Vadovič · Záhorák · Šulák

Šamorín aims to win the ball back high up the pitch and strike quickly through a vertical system. This 3-5-2 formation relies on heavy physical presence and rapid transitions to catch opponents off guard. The lineup is built to control the central areas and use the two strikers to pin the opposition defense.

Eze stays between the posts to manage the defensive line from the back. The back three consists of Janitor, Makky, and Vodera, who form a narrow defensive block when the team sits deep. Makky acts as the central defender to win the header and clear the lines, while Janitor and Vodera cover the space behind the midfield. The unit works together to hold the line and ensure the team stays compact when the opposition tries to play through the thirds.

The midfield operates with a high level of intensity to dominate the center of the pitch. Boledovič and Havlík act as a double pivot to shield the defense and win the second ball. Ahead of them, Charvát, Cserepkai, and Vadovič work in the half spaces to connect the defensive and attacking lines. These players are tasked to press aggressively to win the ball and then immediately look to play through the lines. Charvát often carries the ball forward to link the play, while Cserepkai and Vadovič look to arrive late into the box to support the attack.

In the final third, Šamorín uses two forwards to stretch the opposition. Šulák and Záhorák operate as a partnership, with Šulák often making runs in behind to exploit space. They press the opposition back line to force a long ball, allowing the midfield to intercept and counter at pace. The attackers work to link up play between the lines and make quick combinations to break the line. This front two can also drop slightly to help the midfield recycle possession if the team needs to slow the tempo.

This formation offers significant advantages through its central density and ability to press in coordinated waves. By utilizing five midfielders, Šamorín can create numerical superiority in the middle of the park to control the tempo. The presence of three central defenders also provides compactness when defending, making it difficult for opponents to find space between the lines.

This 3-5-2 lineup is designed for a high press and quick vertical transitions. It is best suited for games against teams that struggle to play out from the back or against opponents who leave large gaps behind their midfield.
