Meierhofer stays between the posts to command the area. The defensive unit consists of a back two with Kreuzriegler and Filipovic acting as the primary central defenders. They sit in a high line to squeeze the space and keep the distance between the defense and the midfield short. As they play with only two at the back, they must be ready to step up to catch attackers offside or cover wide areas if the midfield fails to track back.

The midfield is the engine room for Grazer AK, utilizing a five man line to dominate play. Lang and Rosenberger work as a double pivot to shield the defense and win the second ball. Perchtold and Dressel operate in the half spaces to connect the defense to the attack, with Perchtold driving forward to create passing lanes. Cipot sits in the hole as an attacking ten, looking to receive the ball on the half turn and split the defense with a through ball. This group aims to compress the midfield and deny the turn of any opposing playmaker.

In the final third, the attack features three players across the front to stretch the opposition. Zaizen acts as the central striker to hold up the ball and find the feet of his teammates. Flecker plays as a wide winger on the right to provide width, while Satin operates on the left. These wide players are expected to cut inside to create numerical superiority in central areas or look to whip it in toward the near post. The movement of Flecker and Satin allows the team to attack in combinations and create runs in behind the defensive line.

This formation offers significant tactical advantages through its ability to create massive numerical superiority in midfield.
