Celta focuses on playing a high press and vertical game to catch opponents off guard, utilizing a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup is built to win the ball high up the pitch and quickly transition into attacking phases. Iván operates between the posts to organize the back line. The defensive unit functions as a back three, with Starfelt acting as the central anchor to sweep behind a high line. Javi and Manquillo play as wide centre-backs, providing cover for the wide areas and stepping into midfield when needed to progress through the thirds. The defensive unit works to stay compact and ensure the space behind the high line is protected by the positioning of the defenders.

In the middle of the pitch, Celta uses a four man midfield to control the tempo. Beltrán and Sotelo form a central pairing where one works to shield the defence while the other drives forward with the ball. Carreira and Ristic act as wide midfielders, providing the necessary width to stretch the opposition. Carreira and Ristic are tasked to press aggressively to win the ball high and support the attacking line through constant running. This midfield group links the back three to the front three by recycling possession and playing through the lines.

The attacking front line consists of three players tasked with high intensity. Borja acts as the pressing centre-forward to disrupt the opposition build up. Bamba and Durán play as wide attackers, with Bamba looking to cut inside while Durán pushes high to pin the last defender. The forwards look to create runs in behind and move in combinations to bypass the midfield. This front three works to pin the opposition back and create space for late runs from the midfielders.

Celta gains tactical advantages through the use of wide overloads and a heavy press. The combination of Carreira and Bamba on the left side allows the team to overwhelm the opponent's wide areas. Additionally, the ability to press in coordinated waves allows Celta to win the second ball high up the pitch. This setup provides the speed of transition needed to punish teams that play a high line.
