Celtic aim to control matches through high pressing and rapid verticality in a 4-3-3. This formation is built to win the ball back high up the pitch and use quick transitions to catch the opposition before they can settle. The team seeks to dominate the ball while maintaining a high intensity that forces mistakes from the back.

Kasper Schmeichel stands between the posts to lead the defensive unit. The back line functions as a flat back four that can step up to squeeze the space between the lines. CCV acts as a ball playing defender to start attacks, while Trusty provides cover and is dominant in the air. On the flanks, Johnston plays as an attacking full back to provide width, whereas Valle operates as an overlapping full back to support the left side. The defensive unit works to stay compact and keep the lines close together to prevent through balls.

In the center of the pitch, Celtic employ a three-man midfield with a single pivot. Callum McGregor sits in front of the defense to shield the back four and recycle possession. Beside him, Hatate and Engels act as inverted eights who drive forward with the ball to connect the lines. Hatate uses his passing range to find teammates in space, while Engels works to press aggressively to win the ball high. This midfield unit is responsible for both breaking the play and progressing through the thirds.

The attack features three attackers across the front to stretch the defence. Kyogo operates as a pressing centre-forward who looks to make runs in behind the defensive line. On the wings, Maeda acts as an inverted winger who cuts inside to create space, while Khun stays wide to pull defenders apart. These forwards work in combinations to create openings, often using the movement of Kyogo to draw defenders out of position. The front line is designed to hit in behind on the transition and punish any high line.

A major strength of this Celtic lineup is the ability to press high in coordinated waves from the front to the back. The team also creates wide overloads from the overlapping runs of Johnston and Valle. This allows the wingers to find more central areas to combine in tight spaces. Furthermore, the speed of transition when winning the ball allows the team to exploit gaps quickly.

This 4-3-3 formation is built for heavy dominance through aggressive pressing and rapid ball movement. It is best suited for games against opponents who try to play out from the back under pressure.
