TAA plays as a deep midfielder who can carry the ball forward and switch play, while Robertson sits in a more defensive role to help protect the flank. Szoboszlai acts as a carrier in the right channel, using his engine to press aggressively and win the ball back. MacAllister connects the defensive and attacking lines, often dropping deeper to receive the ball and recycle possession. Salah plays much higher in the half spaces, acting as an attacking midfielder who can find pockets of space between the lines.

Liverpool utilizes three attackers to pin the opposition defense back. L. Díaz plays as a wide winger on the left, stretching the play and looking to cut inside to create chances. Chiesa operates on the right, looking to hit in behind on the transition with his direct running. D. Núñez acts as the lone striker and a pressing centre-forward, using his movement to drag defenders out of position and create space for others. The front three work together to force the opposition into mistakes and quickly deliver balls into the box.

One major tactical advantage of this Liverpool lineup is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, making it difficult for opponents to build out from the back. The team also creates numerical superiority in the middle of the pitch, which allows them to dominate possession in certain zones. The speed of transition from the midfield to the front three allows the team to punish teams that play with a high line.
