This lineup is built to play with extreme verticality, looking to overwhelm the opposition through numbers in the final third. The intent is to force the opponent back into their own half by applying constant pressure on their defensive lines.

REINA guards the goal while the team maintains a flat back four. VARANE provides leadership in the center of the defence, using his reading of the game and aerial strength to intercept passes and win headers. Alongside him, DOSSENA acts as a covering defender to manage space behind the high line. IOVINE and MORENO operate as the wide defenders, tasked with holding the line and tracking back to prevent counter attacks. The defensive unit must remain compact to avoid being bypassed by direct play.

The midfield consists of a two man central pairing. BRAUNODER and MAZZITELLI form the engine room, tasked with shielding the defence and winning the second ball. Since there are only two players in the center, they must work to compress the midfield and deny the turn to opposing playmakers. BRAUNODER often tries to carry the ball forward to connect the lines, while MAZZITELLI focuses on sitting deep to protect the two center backs. They are the primary link between the defensive unit and the four attackers.

In the attacking phase, Como utilizes a heavy front line of four players. CUTRONE and BELOTTI operate as a strike partnership in the middle, looking to find the feet of the striker or make runs in behind. On the flanks, NICO PAZ and STREFEZZA provide width. NICO PAZ uses his dribbling ability to cut inside and create chances, while STREFEZZA looks to get to the byline and whip it in. The movement of the forwards is designed to pin the last defender and create space for late runs into the box.

One major advantage of this formation is the ability to create wide overloads and isolate wide players in one on one situations. By pushing the wingers high, Como stretches the defence and creates space in the middle for the two central attackers. The team also benefits from a high speed of transition, moving the ball quickly from REINA through the midfield to the front four to hit in behind on the transition.

This 4-2-4 formation represents an aggressive tactical identity focused on direct attacking play. It is best suited for matches where Como needs to break down a low block or exploit an opponent that leaves large gaps between their midfield and defensive lines.
