Inter utilizes two forwards in a partnership rather than a lone striker. Lautaro Martinez acts as a pressing centre-forward who looks to link up play between the lines and find pockets of space. Marcus Thuram plays as a mobile striker who makes runs in behind to stretch the defence. They combine in tight spaces to pull defenders out of position. The wing backs, Dimarco and Dumfries, provide the width by getting to the byline to deliver crosses into the box for the strikers.

This formation offers significant numerical superiority in the midfield, making it difficult for opponents to pass through the center. The overlapping wing backs create wide overloads that force the opposition to defend deep. Inter can also transition at pace, using the directness of Thuram and Martinez to exploit gaps left by attacking opponents.
