The midfield is built around a single pivot with two eight roles. Busio sits in front of the defence to shield the back four and recycle possession. Nicolussi Caviglia operates as the right sided midfielder, looking to carry the ball forward and link the lines. Duncan plays as the left sided midfielder to press aggressively and win the second ball. This three man midfield works to compress the midfield and prevent the opponent from playing through the center.

Venezia uses three attackers to pressure the opposition back line. Pohjanpalo acts as the central striker, serving as a target man who can hold up the ball for others. Yeboah plays on the left wing as an inverted winger to cut inside into the half spaces. Oristanio occupies the right wing to stretch the pitch and create chances. The front three press from the front to force a long ball and create turnover opportunities in the final third.

One major advantage for Venezia is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, using the front three to trigger a press. The team can also create wide overloads as Sagrado and Haps push up to support the wingers. This setup allows the team to win the ball high up the pitch and transition into attack with speed.
