In the middle of the pitch, a double pivot of Rovella and Guendonzi controls the tempo. Guendonzi uses his pressing intensity to win it back high up the pitch, while Rovella drops deep to shield the defense and collect the ball. They connect the defensive unit to the attacking lines. Zaccagni and Isaksen occupy the wide areas, with Zaccagni looking to cut inside to create chances and Isaksen tasked to carry the ball forward and play through the lines.

The front line uses a partnership of two forwards, Castellanos and Dia. Castellanos acts as a pressing centre forward to pin the last defender and force a long ball from the opposition. Dia operates as a second striker in the hole, finding space to receive on the half turn and play a one two with the midfielders. This attacking group works to combine in tight spaces and create runs in behind to exploit gaps in the defense.

This formation offers several tactical advantages for Lazio. The team can use the front four to trigger a press and win the second ball in advanced areas. By having Zaccagni and Isaksen move into the half spaces, the team creates wide overloads and isolates wide players in one on one situations.
