Bolivia aims to play a direct and aggressive style of football through a 4-2-4 formation. This lineup focuses on heavy numbers in the final third to overwhelm the opposition and force turnovers high up the pitch. Viscarra sits between the posts to organize the defensive unit. The back four consists of Medina at right back and Fernández at left back, both tasked with managing the flanks. In the center, Haquín and Sagredo form the defensive core, with Haquín acting as a ball playing defender to start attacks and Sagredo providing cover. The unit is expected to hold a high line to squeeze the space and support the midfield when the team plays out from the back.

A double pivot occupies the central areas to control the middle of the pitch. Céspedes and Villamil work to shield the defence and win the second ball. Céspedes acts as the primary carrier to move the ball from the defensive third into the attacking zone, while Villamil helps to recycle possession and connect the lines. These two players must be disciplined to prevent being bypassed during transitions, as they sit ahead of the back four to deny the turn of attacking players.

The attacking front line uses four players to stretch the defence. Terceros and Algrañaz operate as a two forwards partnership in the center, acting as a pressing centre-forward duo to harass the opposition back line. Out wide, Vaca plays on the left and Vaca operates on the right, acting as wide wingers who hug the touchline to spread the play. This setup is designed to create runs in behind and allow the wingers to deliver crosses into the box for the central strikers.

Bolivia gains a significant advantage through numerical superiority in the attacking third, often pinning the last defender of the opponent. The wide presence of Vaca on both sides allows for wide overloads when the full backs push up to support. Additionally, the team can win the ball back high up the pitch through coordinated pressing from the front four, creating immediate chances in transition.
