Bonny (13)Parma aims to play a direct and high intensity style of football using a 4-2-4 formation. This lineup is built to overwhelm opponents with verticality and rapid transitions. The primary goal is to use the width of the pitch and the presence of four attackers to force mistakes in the opposition defensive line.
Z. Suzuki sits between the posts to command the area and start play. The defensive unit operates as a flat back four where E. Delprato and A. Circati form the central pairing. Circati acts as a ball playing defender to initiate attacks, while B. Balogh provides cover. On the flanks, E. Valeri and E. Delprato provide width, with the full backs expected to push up to support the attack. The whole back line must stay compact to prevent being caught out on the break.
A double pivot makes up the central midfield to provide a link between the defense and the front four. S. Sohm and M. Keita work to shield the defense and win the second ball in the middle of the pitch. Keita acts as the carrier to move the ball forward, while Sohm works to recycle possession and cover the spaces left by the advancing full backs. This pair must stay disciplined to stop central counters and ensure the team can progress through the thirds.
The attacking front line is split into two banks of two to stretch the defense. A. Benedyczak and D. Man act as wide wingers who hug the touchline to create space in the channels. In the center, A-Y. Bonny and A. Bernabe' work as a partnership to pressure the opposing centre backs. They look to make runs in behind or link up play in the pockets between the lines. This front four is designed to hit the opposition on the transition and attack the far post with quick combinations.
Parma gains a major advantage through the numerical superiority in the final third, which can isolate defenders in one on one situations. The formation also allows for rapid speed of transition when the double pivot wins the ball. By pushing the wingers wide, the team creates wide overloads that force the opposition to pull their defensive line apart.
This 4-2-4 formation provides a high tempo and aggressive attacking presence. It is best suited for matches where the team needs to break down a deep block or punish an opponent through quick vertical play.
