Swansea focuses on aggressive, high pressing to win the ball high up the pitch, utilizing a 2-5-3 formation. This lineup is built to overwhelm opponents in their own half and dominate the central areas through sheer numbers. The team aims to control games by suffocating the opposition and forcing turnovers in dangerous areas.

Vigouroux acts as the last line of defense, often playing behind a very high line. The defensive unit consists of a narrow back two with Cabango and Darling. Cabango acts as a ball playing defender to start attacks, while Darling provides cover and uses his aerial strength to defend against long balls. Because there are only two center backs, the unit must shift quickly to cover the wide spaces left behind as the midfield pushes up.

The midfield is crowded and designed to squeeze the space in the center of the pitch. It features a central trio of Grimes, Key, and Tymon who work to win the second ball and progress through the thirds. Grimes holds his position to shield the defense, while Key and Tymon drive forward with the ball to link the lines. To add more numbers, Franco and Cooper operate in the half spaces as attacking midfielders, creating a massive presence that makes it difficult for opponents to play out from the back.

In the attacking third, the team employs three attackers to pin the opposition back line. Ronald and Bianchini act as wide wingers who stay wide to stretch the defense, while Vipotnik leads the line as a pressing center forward. This front three works to force long balls from the opposition. The goal is to create combinations in tight spaces, using the movement of Franco and Cooper to support the forwards and create runs in behind the defense.

Swansea gains a massive tactical advantage through numerical superiority in the midfield, which allows them to control the tempo of the game.
