Bradley Barcola stays wide on the left as an inverted winger to cut inside and threaten the goal, while Ousmane Dembélé occupies the right flank to use his dribbling style to beat defenders one on one. Kolo Muani leads the line as a pressing center forward to disrupt the opposition build up. The goal is to create runs in behind and use the width provided by the wing backs to deliver crosses into the box.

This formation offers significant advantages through wide overloads. Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes act as attacking wing backs to provide constant width and overlap the wingers. This creates numerical superiority in the wide areas and makes it difficult for opponents to defend the flanks. The team also benefits from a high press that can force a long ball and allow the back three to reclaim possession quickly.
