Leeds focuses on a direct and aggressive style of play built around a 4-2-4. This formation aims to overwhelm the opponent with numbers in the final third and uses a high press to force errors. The goal is to win the ball high up the pitch and hit the opposition before they can organize.

Meslier stays between the posts to organize the defensive line. The back four operates with a high line to compress the pitch. Rodon and Struijk act as the central defenders, with Rodon providing aerial strength and Struijk covering space behind him. Bogle pushes up as an attacking full back to provide width, while Firpo also moves forward to support the left side. The defensive unit works to squeeze the space between the lines and keep the opposition from playing through the middle.

In front of the back four, Leeds utilizes a double pivot. Ampadu and Gruev form the engine room, tasked with protecting the central area. Ampadu works to shield the defence and win the second ball, while Gruev helps to connect the defensive and attacking lines. This pairing must remain disciplined to prevent counter attacks, especially when the full backs push high. They work to intercept passes and immediately look to play through the lines to the forwards.

The attacking unit is highly aggressive with four players positioned to threaten the goal. Aaronson and Joseph act as the two forwards, with Joseph working to hold up the ball and Aaronson making runs in behind. On the flanks, Gnonto and Solomon act as inverted wingers who cut inside to create goalscoring chances. This setup creates constant pressure on the opposition back line, as the wingers look to isolate defenders in one on one situations or receive the ball in the half spaces.

This formation offers significant tactical advantages through its ability to create wide overloads. By having Bogle and Firpo push up, Leeds can pin the last defender and stretch the defence. Another strength is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, using the four attackers to trigger a press from the front. This heavy pressure makes it difficult for opponents to build play from the back.
