Starting Lineup

Burian · Maroš · Podkonický · Vodera · Baka · Boledovič ("C") · Janitor · Charvát · Havlík · Šulák · Záhorák

Šamorín focuses on high pressing and direct attacking play using a 2-4-4 formation. This lineup is built to overwhelm the opposition in the final third and force turnovers deep in the opponent's half. The team looks to win the ball back high up the pitch to launch immediate threats against the defensive line.

Burian stays between the posts to act as the last line of defense. The defensive unit consists of a two man back line with Baka and Janitor acting as central defenders. These two must hold a high line to squeeze the space and engage attackers early. Because there are only two defenders, Baka and Janitor must be ready to step up and intercept long balls or engage in physical battles to win the second ball.

The midfield operates as a four man block to control the center of the pitch. Boledovič sits as the single pivot to shield the defense and pick up runners. Alongside him, Charvát acts as a central midfielder to help recycle possession. Podkonický and Vodera operate in the half spaces to connect the defensive and attacking lines. Podkonický and Vodera are tasked to carry the ball forward and drive into the box when the opportunity arises to create numerical superiority.

The attacking unit utilizes four players to stretch the defense wide and deep. Maroš and Havlík play as wide wingers who spread wide to pull the opposition full backs out of position. In the center, Šulák and Záhorák operate as a pair of center forwards. This partnership relies on link up play between the lines and making runs in behind the defense. They look to receive the ball with their back to goal or run onto through balls to attack the space.

Šamorín gains a tactical advantage through wide overloads and constant pressure on the ball carrier. The 2-4-4 formation allows the team to press in coordinated waves, making it difficult for opponents to play out from the back. By using four attackers, the team can isolate wide players in one on one situations and create chaos in the penalty area.

This formation is designed for a high risk, high reward game of aggressive pressing. It is best suited for matches where Šamorín needs to dominate territory and force the opponent into mistakes.
