Starting Lineup

Burian · Maroš · Podkonický · Vodera · Baka · Boledovič ("C") · Janitor · Charvát · Havlík · Šulák · Záhorák

Šamorín focuses on high pressing and rapid transitions through a 2-5-3 formation. This lineup aims to dominate the pitch by using extreme width and heavy numbers in the center to overwhelm the opposition. The goal is to win the ball high up the pitch and force mistakes in the opponent's half through constant pressure.

Burian starts in goal to anchor the defensive unit. Ahead of him, Podkonický and Vodera form a two man back line that operates with a high line to keep the team compact. These central defenders must be ready to cover space behind them and intercept long balls. Because the formation uses only two defenders, Podkonický and Vodera often have to step up to engage attackers early and prevent them from turning toward the goal.

The midfield is the engine room for Šamorín, using a five man unit to control the center. Boledovič sits in the middle to connect the defense and attack, acting as the link between the back two and the forward players. Maroš and Baka occupy the central spaces to win the second ball and drive forward with the ball. On the flanks, Charvát and Havlík act as wide midfielders who can push high to support the attack or drop back to help the two central defenders. This midfield unit works to squeeze the space in the middle and prevent the opponent from playing through the lines.

In the final third, the team uses three attackers to stretch the defense. Šulák leads the line as a lone striker, tasked to hold up the ball and find the feet of his teammates. Záhorák and Janitor act as wide players who hug the touchline to create width. These attackers are expected to press the opposition back line relentlessly to force a turnover. The movement is designed to create runs in behind and allow the wide midfielders to overlap the attackers, providing options for cutbacks or crosses.

This formation offers massive numerical superiority in the midfield, making it difficult for opponents to find passing lanes. The high press from the front three and the wide players creates a wave of pressure that can trap teams in their own half. By spreading the pitch wide with Záhorák and Janitor, Šamorín can also isolate defenders in one on one situations.

Šamorín relies on this aggressive lineup to dominate games through high intensity and central control. It is best suited for matches where the team needs to force the opponent into errors and play with high speed on the transition.
