Nelsson acts as a dominant presence in the air to clear lines, while Sanchez uses his recovery speed to cover the space behind a high line. Jakobs completes the trio by being able to step up into midfield during the build up. The unit works to keep a compact shape to prevent through balls while squeezing the space between the defense and the midfield.

The midfield operates with a high level of energy to dominate the center. Torreira acts as the primary pivot to shield the defense and intercept passes, while Sara plays as a deep lying playmaker to drive forward with the ball and spray passes wide. Baris and Jelert occupy the central pockets to connect the defense and attack, with Baris making runs to support the strike force. Mertens plays as an attacking ten behind the two forwards, operating in the half spaces to create chances. This group works to press in a mid block and ensure they win the second ball to keep pressure on the opposition.

Galatasaray utilizes two forwards in a partnership to stretch the defense. Osimhen plays as a pressing centre forward with great movement to run in behind, while Icardi acts as a clinical presence who can hold up the ball and link up play between the lines. They often combine in tight spaces to pull defenders out of position.
