Janosek is responsible to connect the lines and make late runs into the box to support the attack. This central group works to recycle possession and move the ball through the thirds to reach the forwards.

For the attack, NAC Breda uses three attackers across the front. Omarsson operates as a pressing centre-forward who works to pin the last defender and hold up the ball for others. On the flanks, Sauer and Paula act as inverted wingers who cut inside to create goalscoring opportunities. Sauer tends to move into central areas to allow Kemper to overlap, while Paula looks to isolate his marker in one on one situations. The team builds attacks through quick transitions, looking to hit in behind on the transition or deliver crosses from the wide areas when the full backs get deep.
