Chirivella focuses on controlling the tempo, while Douglas Augusto drives forward with the ball to connect the defensive and attacking lines. They must be disciplined to prevent counter attacks, often dropping deep to pick up runners or occupying the space between the lines to ensure the team is not bypassed in the center.

The attack features four players positioned to stress the opposition defense. Kadewere and Abline operate as a central partnership, with Kadewere acting as a physical presence to hold up the ball. Simon and Thomas provide width on the flanks. Simon prefers to cut inside to create chances, while Thomas stays wide to stretch the defense. This front line is designed to press the opposition back line from the front, creating runs in behind and looking for quick combinations to catch defenders on the turn.

One major advantage of this formation is the ability to create wide overloads when Coco and Duverne join the wingers. Nantes can also achieve numerical superiority in the final third by having four attackers constantly pinning the last defenders. This high-intensity setup allows for a very fast break when the ball is recovered in the middle third.
