Leeds aim to win the ball back high up the pitch with a heavy focus on verticality, utilizing a 2-5-3 formation. This lineup is built to overload the middle of the pitch and push the opposition back through aggressive pressing and quick transitions. The goal is to control the game by staying high and making the pitch as small as possible for the opponent.

Meslier acts as the lone goalkeeper, playing a vital role in starting play from the back. The defensive unit relies on a narrow two man back line consisting of Rodon and Struijk. Rodon is expected to be dominant in the air and strong in one on one duels, while Struijk works to cover space and step up to intercept passes. Because there are only two central defenders, this defensive unit must stay compact and communicate constantly to prevent being caught by long balls.

The midfield contains five players working to dominate the center of the park. Ampadu sits in a single pivot role to shield the defence and win the second ball. Bogle and Firpo occupy the left and right central midfield spots, looking to drive forward with the ball and connect the lines. Gruev operates in the right half space to create from deep, while Aaronson acts as an attacking ten behind the striker to find pockets of space. This midfield group works together to press aggressively and win possession in dangerous areas.

Leeds use three attackers to pin the opposition defense back. Joseph leads the line as a pressing centre-forward, looking to find the feet of the striker or make runs in behind. On the wings, Gnonto and Ramazani act as inverted wingers who cut inside to create goalscoring chances. This front three stays high to stretch the defence, using wide players to pull the opposition wide before looking to play through the lines with quick combinations.
