Starting Lineup

Arsenal plays with a 5-3-2 formation to maintain a compact line and control the central areas. The team aims to be defensively solid while using the width of the pitch to stretch the opposition. The midfield works as a three-man unit to bridge the gap between defense and attack. ZINCHENKO and TIMBER act as the central midfielders, with ZINCHENKO often dropping to help play out from the back. They work to recycle possession and protect the zone in front of the back five. PARTEY plays in an advanced role behind the strikers to create through balls and carry the ball forward. This helps the midfield compress the space when the team does not have the ball.

In the final third, Arsenal utilizes two forwards in a partnership. SAKA plays as a right striker, using his dribbling style to cut inside and create chances, while HAVERTZ operates as the left striker. HAVERTZ uses his movement to find pockets of space and make runs in behind the defense. The attackers work together to hold up the ball and let the wing backs overlap. SAKA and HAVERTZ press the opposition back line to force a long ball.

A major advantage for Arsenal is the ability to create wide overloads through the movement of TOMIYASU and CALAFIORI. The formation also offers compactness when defending in a mid-block, making it hard for opponents to play through the middle. By having SALIBA and GABRIEL at the heart of the defense, the team can set the offside trap and win headers effectively.
