Starting Lineup

Altay plays a vertical brand of football built on a 4-3-3 formation. This lineup looks to break lines quickly through direct passing and rapid transitions once the ball is recovered. Varol guards the goal as the last line of defense. In front of him, Altay maintains a flat back four. Sabahattin operates as the right back, while Yaşar plays on the left. The central pairing consists of Ješić and Bılgetay, who must hold the line and defend zonally to protect the central corridor. Ješić and Bılgetay focus on winning the header and clearing the lines when the opposition sends long balls into the box. This unit works to squeeze the space between the defense and midfield to prevent opponents from playing between the lines.

The midfield is composed of a three-man midfield with a carrier and a creative presence. Yıldız sits as the single pivot to shield the defense and collect the ball from the center backs. Elmastaşoğlu acts as a central midfielder to connect the defensive and attacking lines by carrying the ball forward. Turgat plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, looking to find the feet of the forwards or arrive late into the box to score. This midfield group works to win the second ball and ensure Altay can transition from defense to attack without losing possession in dangerous areas.

The attack utilizes three attackers across the front to pin the opposition back. Özaltay acts as the lone striker, tasked to hold up the ball and fight for position against central defenders. On the flanks, Bayram and Denızlı play as wide wingers who stay wide to stretch the defense. Both Bayram and Denızlı look to cut inside or deliver a cross to the far post. The goal is to create one on one situations on the wings and use quick combinations to hit in behind on the transition.

The presence of Turgat in the hole creates numerical superiority in the half-spaces, making it difficult for opposing pivots to mark everyone.
