Galíndez operates as the goalkeeper to anchor the defensive unit. The defense features a back four where Ibáñez and De la Fuente act as the wide defenders. Ibáñez and De la Fuente are tasked to push high and support the wings, while Carrizo and Burdisso hold the central line as the two centre backs. Carrizo and Burdisso must defend zonally and remain alert to pick up runners. The unit must stay compact to avoid being caught on the transition when the full backs move forward.

The midfield consists of a double pivot that provides the necessary shield for the back line. Alarcón and Echeverría work in the two central roles to connect the defense to the attack. Alarcón and Echeverría must press aggressively to win the ball high up the pitch and cover the space left by the advancing full backs. They are responsible for recycling possession and playing short from the back to build the play through the thirds. This duo must be prepared to drop deep to protect the centre backs if the opposition breaks quickly.

The front line relies on four players positioned to stretch the opposition. Mazzanti and Cabral operate as the wide attackers, with Mazzanti looking to get to the byline and Cabral cutting inside to create danger. In the center, Soñora and Fértoli work as a strike partnership. Soñora and Fértoli look to find the feet of the striker or make runs in behind the defense. The front four press from the front to force a long ball and win the second ball in the final third.

One major advantage of this formation is the ability to create wide overloads and isolate defenders. By having Mazzanti and Cabral spread the pitch, Huracán can pull the opposition defense apart. Another strength is the capacity to press in coordinated waves, making it extremely difficult for the opponent to play out from the back. This puts immense pressure on the opposition goalkeeper and defenders.

This 4-2-4 formation is designed for a high pressing, attacking style of play. It is most effective when facing teams that struggle to play through a heavy press or when needing to score goals urgently.
