Unión (SF) focuses on a direct and heavy counter attacking style through a 5-2-3 formation. This lineup seeks to defend deep and then strike quickly once the ball is won. The team relies on a solid foundation to absorb pressure before using the width of the pitch to break the lines.

Cardozo operates between the posts to secure the goal. The back line functions as a narrow defensive block featuring three central defenders. Pittón and Pardo provide strength in the middle of the defense while Fascendini covers the space to the left. The wing backs Corvalán and Paz provide the necessary width, often dropping deep to form a back five when the team sits deep in a low block.

In the middle of the pitch, Unión (SF) utilizes a double pivot to control the central zones. Roldán and Pittón act as the engine room, with Roldán working to win the second ball and Pittón looking to carry the ball forward into the attacking third. This pair works to shield the back three and connects the defensive unit to the front line through quick vertical passes.
