Carter-Vickers and Scales form a central pairing where Carter-Vickers acts as a ball playing defender while Scales focuses on winning the header and covering ground. They defend zonally to keep the team compact when the ball is on the opposite flank.

The midfield works in a three-man midfield with a carrier. McGregor sits in the pivot role to shield the defense and recycle possession when the team needs to slow the tempo. Engels acts as an inverted eight who looks to drive forward with the ball and break the line. Hatate plays as the other central midfielder, pressing aggressively to win the ball high and connecting the defensive and attacking lines. This trio ensures Celtic can control the center of the pitch through movement and ball retention.

Celtic use three attackers across the front to stretch the defense. Maeda plays as a winger who stays high to press the opposition back line and make runs in behind. Kuhn operates on the opposite side as an inverted winger who cuts inside to create central threats.
