Brignoli operates between the posts as the last line of defense. The back three consists of Moukoudi in the center, with Sergio Ramos acting as a ball playing defender on the left and Vida occupying the right side. Sergio Ramos uses his aerial strength and experience to command the line, while Moukoudi stays central to cover space. Vida and Ramos must be prepared to step up to squeeze the space when the team pushes forward. This defensive unit relies on quick recovery runs to handle long balls.

In the middle of the pitch, AEK employs a three-man midfield with a single pivot. Jonsson sits in front of the defense to shield the back three and intercept passes. To his left and right, Pineda and Pereyra work to connect the defense to the attack. Pineda and Pereyra drive forward with the ball to break the line and provide support to the front four. This trio must remain disciplined to prevent being bypassed during transitions.

The attacking line is extremely aggressive, using three forwards and a fourth player to create chaos. Lamela and Martial act as two forwards in a partnership, working to find space in the channels. Levi Garcia plays as a wide winger on the right and Koita operates as a wide winger on the left. Levi Garcia looks to cut inside to create goal scoring chances, while Koita stretches the defense by hugging the touchline. This front four presses from the front to force a long ball from the opposition.

AEK gains a massive advantage through numerical superiority in the final third. The high numbers in the attacking zone create wide overloads and force defenders into difficult one on one situations. This formation also allows for a coordinated wave of pressure that makes it very hard for opponents to build play out from the back. The speed of transition is a key weapon when the midfield wins the ball.
