In the half spaces, zenón and zeballos operate as attacking midfielders. zenón looks to create chances from wide areas, while zeballos pushes higher to support the front line. Boca relies on a lone striker, Merentiel, to lead the line. Merentiel acts as a pressing centre forward to harass the opposition back line and hold up the ball for others. The attack is built through quick transitions where the wing backs, advíncula and blanco, push high to provide crosses. The team seeks to hit in behind on the transition, using the width to stretch the defence and create opportunities for Merentiel to find the feet of his teammates.
