Šamorín focuses on a direct and compact style of play using a 5-3-2 formation. This lineup is built to defend in deep blocks and use quick transitions to catch opponents off guard. The team aims to be difficult to break down by maintaining a narrow defensive line and using the wings for rapid counters.

Eze sits between the posts to manage the defensive unit. The back line consists of a back three with Boledovič acting as the central anchor to win the header and clear the lines. To his sides, Podkonický and Makky operate as wide centre-backs who cover the space behind the wing backs. Csicsayi and Vodera act as attacking wing backs to provide width, while they must track back quickly to form a five man wall when the team sits deep.

The midfield operates as a three man midfield with a carrier to link the lines. Havlík sits in the middle to shield the defence and win the second ball. On either side, Charvát and Janitor work to press in a mid-block and win possession in the center of the pitch. These players must stay close together to compress the midfield and prevent the opposition from playing through the lines.

In the attacking phase, Šamorín uses two forwards in a partnership. Záhorák and Boháč work together to hold up the ball and make runs in behind the opposition defence. The wing backs, Csicsayi and Vodera, push high to provide width and allow the strikers to stay central. This movement creates space for the midfielders to arrive late into the box or for the wingers to deliver crosses into the area.

A major strength for Šamorín is the ability to create wide overloads when the wing backs push forward. The formation also offers great compactness when defending, making it very hard for opponents to find space between the lines.
