While one forward might drop deep to link play, the other looks to attack the near post or far post during crosses. The team builds attacks by moving the ball quickly from the midfield to these front two.

Manchester United gains an advantage by creating numerical superiority in the middle of the pitch when the AM joins the central midfielders.
