Nouhou plays as the left back to provide width, while J.Tchouatcha occupies the right back position to keep the defensive unit narrow.

In the middle of the pitch, Cameroon employs a three-man midfield with a sitting pivot. C.Baleba sits in front of the defense to shield the back four and win the second ball. A.Zambo-Anguissa and B.Elliott operate as the two central midfielders, where A.Zambo-Anguissa drives forward with the ball to connect the lines. B.Elliott works to press aggressively and disrupt the opposition rhythm, ensuring the midfield remains compact to deny the turn to the opponent.

The attacking structure relies on a lone striker, V.Aboubakar (C), who acts as a pressing centre-forward to bother the opposition back line. He works closely with the two attacking midfielders, B.Mbeumo and C.Bassogog, who play in the half-spaces. B.Mbeumo and C.Bassogog function as wide midfielders who can cut inside to create central presence. This setup allows for quick combinations to find the feet of the striker or for the wide players to deliver crosses as they push forward.

This formation offers several tactical advantages for Cameroon. The heavy presence in the middle creates numerical superiority in midfield, making it hard for opponents to play through the center. The team can also use the wide players to stretch the defence, creating space for late runs into the box from the central midfielders.
