Starting Lineup

Eze · Baka · Podkonický · Makky · Vodera · Boledovič ("C") · Janitor · Havlík · Cserepkai · Záhorák · Boháč

Šamorín looks to dominate through aggressive verticality and heavy numbers in the middle of the pitch using a 2-5-3 formation. This lineup is built to win the ball back high up the pitch and quickly move the ball into the final third. By committing so many players forward, the team seeks to overwhelm the opposition through central density and rapid transitions.

Eze stands between the posts to organize the defensive unit. Because the formation uses only two central defenders in Makky and Podkonický, they must play with a high line to squeeze the space. These two are tasked with being dominant in the air and covering large areas of ground to stop any direct balls. The defensive unit functions by stepping up to catch attackers offside and relying on the midfield to prevent runners from getting behind the back line.

The midfield is the engine room for Šamorín, operating with five players to control the game. Boledovič sits centrally to shield the defense and recycle possession when needed. On either side, Baka and Vodera act as drivers to carry the ball forward through the thirds. The team also employs two attacking midfielders, Janitor as the left attacking midfielder and Havlík as the right attacking midfielder, to push into the half spaces. This group connects the defensive line to the front three, making sure there is always a passing option to move the ball through the lines.

Up front, the attack utilizes three players to stretch the opposition. Záhorák acts as the lone striker to lead the press and find the feet of his teammates. On the flanks, Boháč operates as a winger on the left while Cserepkai plays on the right, both looking to cut inside and create chaos. This front line is designed to create runs in behind and isolate defenders in one on one situations. When the team wins the ball, the wingers and the central midfielders work to quicken the tempo and hit the opposition before they can settle.

One major advantage for Šamorín is the numerical superiority in midfield, which makes it very hard for opponents to play through the center. The presence of Janitor and Havlík alongside the central trio allows the team to press in waves and win the second ball frequently. Another strength is the ability to create wide overloads when the attacking midfielders and wingers combine to pull the opposition defense apart.

This high risk formation is designed for teams that want to dictate play through intense pressing and central control. It is best suited for matches against opponents who struggle to play out from the back or cannot cope with heavy pressure in the middle of the park.
