Šamorín focuses on heavy central congestion and overwhelming the opposition through a massive midfield presence, utilizing a 2-6-2 formation. This lineup is built to dominate the middle of the pitch and pin opponents back, relying on high volume passing and sheer numbers to control the tempo. The goal is to squeeze the space in the center and use the density of players to win the ball back quickly.

Eze operates between the posts to start the build up. The defensive unit is minimal, consisting of only two central defenders, Vadovič and Csicsayi, who must hold the line against any direct attacks. These two act as the last line of defense, needing to be dominant in the air and quick to cover the wide areas when the midfield is bypassed. Because the formation is so thin at the back, the defensive block must stay high to support the midfield.

The midfield is the engine of this Šamorín lineup, featuring six players who occupy almost every zone in the center. Boledovič and Maroš act as a double pivot to shield the two central defenders and recycle possession. In front of them, Podkonický and Záhorák operate in the half spaces to drive forward with the ball and link the play. Boháč and Makky provide the width, operating as wide midfielders who can push high to support the attack or track back to help the back two.

The attacking unit uses two forwards, Šulák and Havlík, to lead the line. They play as a partnership, working to occupy the opposition centre-backs and create space for the late runners coming from the midfield. The team builds attacks by playing short from the back through the dense midfield, looking to find the feet of the striker or slip through balls between the lines. Havlík and Šulák often work in combinations to pull defenders out of position before a winger cuts inside.

One major advantage of this setup is the massive numerical superiority in midfield, which makes it very difficult for opponents to play through the center. The coordination of six players allows the team to press in waves, making it hard for the opposition to find an easy exit from their own half. This formation also allows the team to quickly switch play from one side to the other using the wide midfielders to stretch the defence.

This heavy midfield formation is designed to suffocate opponents who rely on central playmakers. It is best suited for games where Šamorín can control the ball and force the opposition to play long.
