Šamorín Football Formation
Starting Lineup
Eze · Vadovič · Podkonický · Makky · Maroš · Boledovič ("C") · Csicsayi · Havlík · Záhorák · Šulák · BoháčŠamorín focuses on a compact defensive block and quick transitions using a 4-5-1 formation. This lineup is built to sit in a mid-block to deny space between the lines and then strike when the opponent loses control. The team looks to keep the lines close together to make it hard for the opposition to play through the middle.
Eze guards the goal as the last line of defense. The back four operates as a flat line where Vadovič and Maroš act as full backs to cover the flanks. Podkonický and Makky operate as the central defenders to hold the line and win headers. These defenders must stay disciplined to prevent runners from getting behind the defensive unit.
The midfield functions as a five man unit to control the central areas and width. Havlík plays as the attacking ten behind the lone striker to link the midfield and attack. Csicsayi and Šulák occupy the central roles to shield the defense and recycle possession. On the wings, Záhorák and Boledovič provide width and track back to help the full backs when defending.
Boháč acts as the lone striker and is tasked to hold up the ball and find the feet of the striker to bring others into play. The attack relies on Boháč to lead the press from the front and create space for Havlík to arrive late into the box. When the team wins the ball back, they look to hit in behind on the transition with quick vertical passes. The wide players, Záhorák and Boledovič, aim to spread wide to stretch the defense.
This formation offers the advantage of compactness when defending to deny the opponent space in the final third. Šamorín also benefits from numerical superiority in the midfield block to intercept passes and win the second ball. The setup allows the team to transition quickly from a defensive block to an attacking phase.
The 4-5-1 formation relies on discipline and hard work in the middle of the pitch. This lineup is best suited for games against technically superior teams where sitting deep and countering at pace is necessary.
