Südtirol aims to control the game through a high press and quick transitions using a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup focuses on winning the ball back high up the pitch to immediately hurt the opposition before they can settle. The team looks to use the width of the pitch to stretch the defence and create gaps in the middle for their attackers to exploit.

Poluzzi operates between the posts to organize the defensive unit. A back three provides the base, with Ceppitelli acting as the central figure to win the header and command the area. This defensive line can step up to squeeze the space and set the offside trap when the team presses.

The midfield consists of a central pairing and two wide players to maintain balance. Praszelik and Arrigoni form a central duo that works to win the second ball and drive forward with the ball to progress through the thirds. Molina and Rover act as wide midfielders who provide much needed width, often overlapping to create numbers in the final third. Casiraghi and Tait operate as wide attackers, with Casiraghi looking to cut inside to create scoring chances. Tait can also pull wide to deliver a cross or whip it in from the flank. One major advantage for Südtirol is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, making it very difficult for opponents to play out from the back.
