Flamengo uses a lone striker in Gabriel to lead the line. Gabriel works as a pressing centre-forward to harass the opposition back line and hold up the ball for others. The attacking front is supported by the two creative players in the pockets behind him. de Arrascaeta and B. Henrique operate as attacking midfielders who look to find gaps between the lines. The team builds attacks through short passes before looking to hit in behind on the transition.
