Šamorín Football Formation
Starting Lineup
Burian · Baka · Podkonický · Makky · Vodera · Boledovič ("C") · Janitor · Havlík · Šulák · Boháč · CserepkaiŠamorín aims to control the central areas of the pitch through a compact and direct 3-5-2. This formation is built to play with verticality, looking to win the second ball and move quickly through the middle. The team relies on a strong core to recycle possession and transition from defense to attack with speed.
Burian acts as the last line of defense in goal. The back three consists of Boledovič, Janitor, and Cserepkai, who work together to defend zonally. Boledovič holds the center of the line, while Janitor and Cserepkai cover the space to the sides. This unit can step up to squeeze the space or drop into a low block when under pressure. The defenders must stay close to one another to deny the turn to opposition attackers and protect the central zone.
The midfield works as a five man unit to dominate the center. Boháč sits in the middle to shield the defense and connect the lines, acting as a pivot for the team. Beside him, Podkonický and Makky operate as two central midfielders who help to carry the ball forward and press in a mid-block. On the flanks, Baka and Vodera provide the width, acting as wide midfielders who must track back to help the defense and spread wide when the team has the ball. This midfield group works to compress the midfield and win it back high up the pitch.
The attacking unit uses two forwards to stretch the opposition back line. Šulák and Havlík play as a partnership, with the intention to find the feet of the striker or play one-two combinations to break the line. They press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition. The wide midfielders, Baka and Vodera, look to provide service by delivering crosses into the box, while the two central midfielders aim to arrive late into the box to support the strike force.
Šamorín gains a significant advantage through numerical superiority in the midfield, making it difficult for opponents to play through the center. The presence of Baka and Vodera also allows for wide overloads when they overlap the attackers. This formation provides great compactness when defending, as the three center backs and the five midfielders can sit deep and hold a compact shape to deny space.
This 3-5-2 formation provides a solid foundation for a team that wants to dominate the central zones. It is best suited for matches against opponents who play with a single pivot or those who struggle to handle heavy pressing in the middle of the pitch.
