Šamorín focuses on a direct and vertical way of playing using a 4-4-2. This formation is built to exploit spaces quickly and relies on a compact unit to win the ball back. By using two banks of four, the team aims to stay organized and hit opponents when they are caught out of position.

Burian guards the goal as the last line of defense. In front of him, the back four maintains a relatively flat line to keep the unit close together. Baka plays as the right back to cover the wide area, while Vodera operates on the left. Podkonický and Makky form the central pair, with Podkonický acting as a dominant presence in the air and Makky covering the space behind him. This defensive unit works to squeeze the space between the lines and force the opposition into wide areas.

The midfield functions as a flat four to provide coverage across the pitch. Janitor and Boledovič occupy the central roles, acting as a double pivot to shield the defense and win the second ball. Janitor works to connect the defensive and attacking lines, while Boledovič looks to carry the ball forward. On the flanks, Havlík and Šulák provide width and help to press the opposition in a mid-block. This midfield grouping is vital for recycling possession and ensuring the team does not get bypassed easily.

Attacking the opposition relies on the partnership of Boháč and Cserepkai. Boháč leads the line as a pressing centre-forward, while Cserepkai works to find the feet of the striker or make runs in behind. The two forwards press the opposition back line to force long balls. Width is provided by Šulák and Havlík, who look to whip it in or deliver early crosses into the box. The team often uses combinations between the wide players and the two strikers to break the line and create chances in transition.

One major advantage for Šamorín is the compactness when defending in their mid-block. This makes it very difficult for opponents to play through the center. Another strength is the speed of transition when the midfield wins the ball. Once Janitor or Boledovič intercept a pass, the team can quickly spread wide to catch the defense off balance.

This 4-4-2 formation provides a balanced platform for a team that wants to be hard to beat. It is best suited for games against possession heavy sides where Šamorín can sit deep and counter at pace.
