Burian stays between the posts to manage the defense from the back. The back line operates as a back five with Boledovič acting as the central defender to anchor the unit. Podkonický plays as the right centre back and Makky holds the left centre back spot to provide cover. The wide defenders are tasked with providing width while maintaining a compact shape. Baka acts as the right wing back to push up the flank, while Vodera operates as the left wing back to support the attack. This grouping allows the team to sit deep when needed or push high to squeeze the space.

The midfield consists of a two-man pairing to manage the central zone. Janitor and Havlík operate as the two central midfielders responsible for connecting the defense and the attack. Janitor works to shield the defense and disrupt play, while Havlík tries to carry the ball forward to link the lines. They must work hard to press in a mid-block and ensure they do not get bypassed by long balls. Their main job is to recycle possession and find the wide players or the striker quickly.

In the attacking phase, the team uses three attackers to pin the opposition defense. Šulák acts as the lone striker and is tasked to hold up the ball and find the feet of his teammates. Boháč plays as the left winger and Cserepkai operates as the right winger to provide width. These wingers often look to cut inside to create central presence or deliver crosses into the box. The attackers press from the front to force a long ball and create chances through quick transitions.

One major advantage for Šamorín is the ability to create wide overloads through the wing backs. When Baka and Vodera push up, they provide extra passing lanes to help the midfielders. The formation also offers compactness when defending in a low block, making it hard for opponents to find gaps between the lines. This setup allows the team to transition at pace once the ball is won in the middle third.
