The midfield consists of a five man unit that controls the central zones. Escamilla and Lertora operate as a double pivot to shield the defense and disrupt the opposition. Lertora provides the physical presence to tackle, while Escamilla looks to recycle possession. Ahead of them, Perez and Barrera occupy the half spaces to connect the defensive and attacking lines. Titi plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, looking to find pockets of space and play through the lines to create chances.

In the final third, Querétaro uses a lone striker in Benedetto to lead the line. Benedetto acts as a target man to hold up the ball and wait for the midfield to push forward. The wide players and the attacking midfielder work to support him through quick combinations. When the team wins the ball, the goal is to find Benedetto early or use the runners from deep like Titi to exploit the space behind the opponent defense.
