Seeking to control the tempo through high pressing and verticality, São Paulo operates within a 3-4-3 formation. This lineup aims to dominate the pitch by winning the ball back high up the pitch and quickly hitting the opposition in transition. The system relies on intense energy to squeeze the space and create mismatches in the final third.

Rafael acts as the last line of defense in goal. The defensive unit consists of a back three featuring A. Franco as the central defender to hold the line and clear the lines. To his sides, Sabino and N. Ferraresi operate as wide centre-backs. Sabino covers the left channel while N. Ferraresi provides aerial strength and physical presence on the right. This trio works to defend zonally and step up to intercept passes before the opponent can settle.

In the middle of the pitch, São Paulo utilizes a four man midfield to bridge the gap between defense and attack. Alisson and T. Mendes act as the central pair to control the ball and link play. Alisson works to shield the defense and recycle possession, while T. Mendes looks to carry the ball forward and drive into space. On the flanks, Erick and R. Rotondi occupy the wide midfield roles, tasked to push up and support the attack or track back to help the defensive unit.

The attacking front line features three players designed to stretch the defense. J. Calleri leads the line as a physical presence to find the feet of the striker and win the header. He works in tandem with Lucas and Antony, who play as wide attackers. Lucas tends to cut inside to create chances, while Antony uses his dribbling style to isolate opponents one on one. These three press from the front to force a long ball from the opposition.

One major advantage for São Paulo is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, making it difficult for opponents to build play. The formation also allows for wide overloads when Erick and R. Rotondi push high to support the wingers. This creates a lot of pressure in the final third and forces the opposition back into a low block.

This 3-4-3 formation focuses on aggressive pressing and rapid transitions. It is best suited for games against teams that struggle to play out from the back under heavy pressure.
