Ledesma sits in goal to start the build up from the back. The defensive unit operates as a flat back four. Acuña plays as the left back to provide support, while Sant'Anna occupies the right back position. In the middle of the defence, Diaz acts as the left centre back to cover space, with Pezzella playing as the right centre back. Pezzella uses his aerial strength and experience to defend the area and win the second ball. The back four must stay compact when the team drops into a mid-block to prevent being split by long balls.

The midfield functions as a double pivot to protect the centre of the pitch. Villagra works in the right central midfield role to shield the defence and pick up runners. The left central midfield role is tasked with connecting the defensive and attacking lines. This pair must work hard to cover the space left behind when the full backs push forward. They are responsible for recycling possession and ensuring the ball moves quickly from the back four to the front four.

The attack is heavy with four players pushing high. Martinez plays as the left winger to cut inside and create chances, while Simon acts as the right winger. In the central positions, Ruberto operates as the main striker to find the feet of the striker and hold up the ball. Colidio plays alongside him, acting as a second striker to arrive late into the box. This front four is designed to press from the front to force a long ball from the opponent.
