Milan aims to control games through high intensity pressing and rapid transitions using a 4-3-3. Gabbia acts as a ball playing defender to move the ball out from the back, while Pavlovic provides aerial strength and covers the space behind the line. Dalot plays as an attacking full back to provide width on the right, while Robertson works to overlap the winger on the left.

The midfield relies on a three man midfield with a carrier to link the lines. Fofana operates as a shield to protect the defense and win the second ball. Tonali drives forward with the ball to transition from defense to attack, using his driving runs to move the team up the pitch. Rijenders plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, looking to find pockets of space and arrive late into the box to support the front three.

Milan uses three attackers across the front to stretch the defense. Osimhen acts as a pressing centre-forward who pins the last defender and fights for long balls. On the flanks, Pulisic plays as an inverted winger who cuts inside to create shooting opportunities, while Son operates as a wide winger who can also cut inside to exploit the half spaces. These three work in combinations to create runs in behind and isolate defenders in one on one situations.

A major advantage for Milan is the ability to press high in coordinated waves to force a long ball from the opposition. The presence of Tonali and Rijenders provides numerical superiority in midfield to control the tempo. Additionally, the width provided by Dalot and Robertson creates wide overloads that pull the opposing defensive unit apart.
