The midfield employs a four man unit designed to control the center. Declan Rice acts as a shield for the defense, while Mikel Merino and Joshua Kimmich work to win the second ball and drive forward with the ball. Martin Odegaard plays as an attacking ten behind the striker, looking to play through the lines and find the feet of the striker.
