Starting Lineup

Zamalek looks to control the tempo and control the central areas using a 3-5-2. This formation focuses on dominating the middle of the pitch to create chances through central combinations and wing play. Drago sits between the posts to command the area. Ahead of him, the back three consists of Franse in the center with Mirangi on the right and Mo Ali on the left. Franse acts as the central anchor to stop direct attacks, while Mirangi and Mo Ali provide cover and can step up to win the second ball. This defensive unit works to keep the lines tight and protect the space behind the midfield.

The midfield features a three man midfield with a carrier and wide players. Mlok sits in front of the defense to shield the back three and break up play. To his sides, LOL and Tawfik operate as central midfielders to connect the defense to the attack. Sayed plays as the right midfielder to provide width, while Wael works on the left. These players work to recycle possession and press in a mid-block to win the ball back.

Zamalek employs two forwards in a partnership to lead the line. BOB and Yahya operate as a strike duo to stretch the opposition defense. They use link up play between the lines to move the ball forward. BOB and Yahya press the opposition back line to force mistakes and look to hit in behind on the transition. The wingers, Sayed and Wael, spread wide to create space in the middle for the strikers to work.

One major advantage for Zamalek is the numerical superiority in midfield which helps them control the game. The presence of Sayed and Wael allows for wide overloads when they push up the pitch. This formation also creates compactness when defending, making it hard for opponents to play through the center. The team can also shift quickly to exploit space on the flanks.
