LASK focuses on an aggressive, high pressing style of play using a 2-5-3 formation. This lineup aims to dominate the middle of the pitch and force mistakes deep in the opposition half. The team looks to win it back high up the pitch to launch quick attacks before the opposition defense can set.

Lawal stays between the posts as the goalkeeper. The defense consists of a narrow back two with Ziereis and Taloverov acting as the central defenders. Because the formation uses only two players in the back, they must play a high line to squeeze the space and set the offside trap. Ziereis and Taloverov need to be ready to step up or cover wide areas when the midfield is bypassed. They must be strong in one on one situations to stop any runners who break the line.

The middle of the pitch is where LASK exerts most of its control through a five man midfield. Smolcic and Stojkovic form a double pivot to shield the two defenders and hold the center. Ahead of them, Horvath and Berisha operate in the half spaces to link the play and carry the ball forward. R. Zulj plays as an attacking ten behind the striker to find pockets of space and create chances. This group must work to compress the midfield and ensure they do not get caught out on the break.

Up front, the team utilizes three attackers to pin the opposition defense. Entrup acts as the central striker to hold up the ball and provide a focal point. On the wings, Usor and M. Ljubicic spread wide to stretch the defence and provide width. These wingers can cut inside to create space for the midfielders or look to get to the byline to deliver crosses. The team looks to combine in tight spaces to split the defence with a through ball.

This formation offers significant numerical superiority in the middle of the pitch. By packing the center, LASK can control the tempo and recycle possession effectively. Another advantage is the ability to press high in coordinated waves, making it very difficult for opponents to build from the back. The presence of Usor and M. Ljubicic also allows for quick transitions that catch the opposition out of position.
