Šamorín Football Formation
Starting Lineup
Eze · Janitor · Vodera · Podkonický · Baka · Makky · Havlík · Boledovič ("C") · Cserepkai · Šulák · CharvátŠamorín looks to play a direct and compact game through a 4-5-1 formation. This lineup aims to stay organized and win the second ball to trigger quick attacks. The team works to deny space between the lines and relies on disciplined movements to transition from defense to offense.
Eze stands between the posts to guard the goal. The back line operates as a flat back four with Janitor on the right and Baka on the left. In the center, Vodera and Podkonický form the defensive pairing to hold the line and clear the lines when under pressure. They defend zonally to maintain a compact block. The defenders work together to squeeze the space and prevent the opposition from playing through the thirds.
The midfield is built around a central trio of Makky, Šulák, and Cserepkai. Makky and Šulák operate in the middle to protect the defense and pick up runners. Cserepkai plays as an attacking ten behind the striker to connect the lines and find the feet of the striker. On the flanks, Boledovič and Havlík provide width. Boledovič plays on the left while Havlík works the right side to help the midfield and track back when the team loses the ball.
Charvát leads the line as a lone striker. He is tasked to hold up the ball and wait for support from the midfield. The attack relies on the movement of Cserepkai to arrive late into the box. The wide players, Boledovič and Havlík, look to stretch the defence by spreading wide. When the team wins possession, they look to hit in behind on the transition to catch the opposition out of position.
Šamorín offers significant compactness when defending in a mid-block. The five-man midfield makes it very difficult for opponents to play through the middle. This formation also allows for quick transitions to exploit the space left by attacking teams. By using the wide players to pull the opposition apart, the team creates opportunities for Charvát to work in one on one situations.
This 4-5-1 formation is designed for a team that wants to be difficult to break down. It is best suited for matches against dominant sides where Šamorín can sit deep and counter at pace.
