Starting Lineup

Number 3 often drops to help play short from the back and recycle possession. Number 10 is tasked to carry the ball forward, find the feet of the striker, and connect the defence to the attack. They must work together to press in a mid-block and prevent the opposition from playing through the lines.

In the attacking phase, Arsenal uses three players across the front line. Number 7 and number 11 act as wide wingers who hug the touchline to pull defenders apart. Number 9 plays as a lone striker to hold up the ball and link up with others. The wingers frequently cut inside to create space for number 2 and number 6 to overlap the winger and deliver a cross. This movement is designed to create runs in behind and allow for quick combinations in tight spaces.
