Starfelt acts as the central figure to win the header and cover the space behind the others, while Javi and Marcos function as wide centre-backs to manage the channels. This back three allows the team to hold a high line and squeeze the space, relying on the defenders to intercept passes and clear the lines when the press is bypassed.

The midfield utilizes a central pairing of Damián and Sotelo to control the center of the pitch. Damián works to shield the defence and win the second ball, while Sotelo looks to carry the ball forward and link the defensive unit to the attack. On the flanks, Mingueza and Hugo operate as wing backs to provide width. Mingueza and Hugo must cover the entire length of the pitch, pushing up to support the attack and tracking back to prevent being outnumbered in wide areas.

Celta employs three attackers to pin the last defender and force the opposition into mistakes. Cucho leads the line as a pressing centre-forward, using his movement to find space between the lines or run in behind. Gabri and Fer act as inverted wingers who cut inside to create central overloads, leaving space for the wing backs to overlap.
