Reina/Audero operates in goal to anchor the defensive unit. The back line consists of a flat back four with Van der Brempt at right back and Moreno at left back. Kempf and Dossena form the central pairing, tasked with defending zonally and being dominant in the air to clear the lines. These four must hold a compact line and track back to prevent being exploited by runners when the team is out of possession.

The midfield works as a double pivot with Roberto and Perrone occupying the central spaces. Their primary role is to shield the defense and win the second ball to maintain control. Roberto and Perrone must work to connect the defensive and attacking lines, often dropping deep to receive or carrying the ball forward to drive the team into the next third. They are responsible for recycling possession and protecting the space in front of the back four.

In the attacking phase, the team features a potent front line with Nico Paz and Cutrone acting as two central forwards. Fadera plays as a winger on the left to spread the play, while Strefezza stays wide on the right. This lineup allows Nico Paz to use his dribbling to combine in tight spaces or for Cutrone to run in behind the defense. The wingers look to cut inside and create chances, while the forwards focus on finding the feet of their teammates or stretching the defense to create space.

With four players high up the pitch, Como can trigger a press to win the ball back high up the pitch.
